Obituary

Leslie E. Dabney (Saw, Bunion) entered into eternal rest on April 12, 2023 at 7:30 pm. Leslie was born on May 18, 1952 to Julia Dabney Tinsley and Leslie E. Toliver. He joined the Providence Baptist Church at an early age. He attended John M. Gandy School and Patrick Henry High School while living with his grandmother, Virginia Dabney. He retired from Randolph Macon College after an illness. On July 12, 1996 he was wedded to Gladys Wilkerson.

Leslie was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of the Easy Drive Hunting Club whom he loved dearly. After becoming disabled, he would go and sit on the back of the truck waiting for the deer to come by. He would be busy on Friday nights getting ready and had Gladys cooking and fixing lunch. He was going and couldn't hardly make it out of the house. His hunting buddies were very faithful for picking him up and taking good care of him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Julia Tinsley and her husband Hardy Tinsley Sr., his father Leslie Toliver; sister Stacy Allen, and brother Craig Tinsley. He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife, Gladys Dabney, sons Lester Tyler (Tracy), Emmett Wilkerson (Cheryl), Gary Wilkerson (Candace); daughters Sherri Trueheart, Andrea Wilkerson and Ava Washington (Derek); t wo sisters, Florence White (Claude), Vonda Mason (Franklin) and one brother, Hardy Tinsley Jr. ( Crystal); 13 grandchildren, two devoted Tierra Tyler and Travis Tyler; six great grandchildren; three brothers-in-law, Lewis Pollard (Jane), Samuel Pollard (Sherry Lynn), and Harvey Pollard (Beverly), and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins, among them one as devoted as a loving sister Caronisa Sims, and other relatives and friends.
