Lloyd Matthew Straus Sr. was born on November 28, 1944, in Ashland, Virginia, the oldest son of the late Hattie Straus and Evander Derricott. He was preceded in death by his twin sister at birth. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Linda Straus, and brother, Scottie Straus.

Lloyd was educated within the Hanover County Public School system. He had a larger-than-life style and laid-back demeanor. He was known for his stylish cars and bikes, you could see them shining from miles away. Although he loved his shiny toys, he loved his family the most.

His family was his true love. He was a protector, provider, and an ear to listen. He would give his advice, especially on cars; don't bring your car looking like a mess, you won't hear the end of it. So, you knew to come correct.

Lloyd departed this life suddenly on Monday, January 20, 2025. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He leaves behind to cherish his memories; his loving wife, Mareen Straus; his three beautiful children, Jeanna Straus of Rochester, NY, Lloyd Straus Jr. (Joyelle) of Morganville, NJ and Derek Straus (Leona) of Willingboro, NJ; nine grandchildren, Dominque, Neima, Lloyd, Jonathan, Leanna, Jada, Genesis, Derek and Ta'leigh; three great-grandchildren, Kailee, Xena, and Xander;  eight half brothers and sisters; one devoted cousin, Janet (Sugar), along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relative and friends who will miss him dearly. Lloyd would be truly missed, we love you, but GOD loves you best.
