Obituary

Lorenzo Harris, affectionately known as "Skull Buck" and "Bae Brother", surrounded by his devoted family at St. Mary's Hospital transitioned peacefully into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Thursday, March 9, 2023.

Lorenzo was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Orlando Anderson, Jr. and Trey Mines, as well as his sisters, Cynthia Brooks, Jackie Harris and Marion Moore.

Lorenzo was born on March 14, 1953 to the late John Harris, Jr. and Lorean Harris in Hanover County (Brown Grove Community).  He was educated in Hanover County Public Schools.  Lorenzo joined Brown Grove Baptist Church at an early age and sang in the Rainey Memorial Gospel Chorus.

Skull started his employment with his grandfather on the trash truck. He also worked at the airport in Washington, DC as well as with Breedlove Construction until his health began to fail.

Lorenzo was a huge jokester and loved to make people laugh. He never met a stranger and oh how he loved to talk. He also was a very sharp dresser and had to wear a hat with his suits! He loved watching westerns on TV and he especially loved his Pittsburgh Steelers football team.

Lorenzo leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Vylonda Derricott (Dante), Ashley and Alexis Mines; two sons, Manantino "Mann" and Dante "Donnie" Mines, along with his special devoted companion of 44 years, Marcenia "Cookie" Mines; 11 grandchildren, Britney Dabney (Javon), Breon Lambert, Manantino, Jr., Quita Tillman, Donne Mines, Michelle Soto, Zavion Goodall, Dante, Jr., Kayla Kennedy, and Damian Mines; three great grandchildren, Javeon and Bella Dabney, and Kavren Tillman; two sisters, Rosa Stevens and Princella Fauntleroy, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends, including devoted cousin, Brenda Inge and devoted friends, Lowell Wright, Renee Boulware, and Vernon Giles.
