Obituary

Mrs. Lottie Rebecca Smith, known as "Mickey" was born to Garland and Lottie Coleman on April 29, 1937. She was one of eleven children. On Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Spotsylvania Regional Hospital, Mickey departed this life at the age of 86.

She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and became a member of St. John Baptist Church in Woodford, VA.

Mickey received her education in Caroline County, VA where she attended Union High School, graduating class of 1956. In addition, she completed an in-home medical transcription course and an adult sewing course. Her employment history includes many talents and trades while serving in multiple fields such as food and beverage, customer service, notary public, and volunteering at the election polls.

Mickey was joined in holy matrimony on December 1, 1956, to the late Harold Smith, Sr. from this union was born 5 sons.

While early mornings were touched with fresh coffee brewing and homemade biscuits baking, Mickey delighted in being a wife, mother and grandmother. Her loving, nurturing and caring spirit poured tirelessly into her family and into her passion for the care of flowers. The blossoming blooms that surrounded her yards would continuously display a vision of her talent.

Mickey was preceded in death by her husband Harold Smith Sr.; one son Dwight Smith, Sr.; her parents Garland and Lottie Coleman; five brothers Ed, Raymond, Warren, Garland, Jr., and Homer; two sisters Thelma Carter and Rose Mae Smith.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory four sons Harold, Jr., Warren-Stewart (Lolita), Barry and Reverend Kelvin (Artreyca); one sister Barbara Wallace; two brothers Philip Coleman and Roy Coleman; ten grandchildren Naomi, Barry Jr., Dwight Jr., Latrece, Devonne, Kelvin Jr., Quavon, Bria, Jasmine and Daniel; eighteen great grandchildren, three sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
