Lucille (affectionately known as Boots) Thornton Henry quietly departed this life on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at her home in Ashland, VA at the blessed age of 95. She was born to the late Walker, Sr. and Mary Thornton on August 3, 1925. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Henry, Jr.; siblings Beatrice T. Johnson, Evelyn T. Holman, Walker, Jr., and William Thornton.

Lucille was educated in the Hanover County Public Schools and retired from Hanover County after many years of service.

Lucille accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at Union Baptist Church, Ashland, Virginia. She served many years as an Usher, Missionary, Hospitality, and Church Custodian.

Lucille leaves to cherish her memory her faithful son Leon A. Henry, Sr.; grandchildren Lisa Jones, Eunica Terrell (Frederick), Leon A. Henry, Jr. (Giaon), and Thomas Young; great-grandchildren Sydney Jones, Monaysha Easter, Mariah Lewis, Jamal Thomas, Shamarius and Shakhia Henry, Jakhi and Adonis Young, Samandre, and Shanyia Williams, Xhaden, and Xarius Terrell; great great-grandchildren Julian Edwards, Dylan and Devyn Harper; one sister Louise Lewis; bonus daughter Rosalyn DeCordova; bonus son Ricky Holman, devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
