Lucille Robinson
Pleasants
July 6, 1929 – August 1, 2023
"Goodbyes are not forever, nor is it the end;
It simply means we'll miss you until we meet again"
Lucille Robinson Pleasants, 94, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Lannie and Ollie Robinson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charlie Pleasants, two sons, Earl and Charles Pleasants, and her seven siblings, Earl, Purcell, Thomas, Harry, Sr., and Henry Robinson, Sr., along with her two sisters, Edith Brooks and Lannie B. Robinson.
Lucille was educated in Hanover County Public Schools. She joined Jerusalem Baptist Church at an early age and served faithfully until she began to have health challenges. She served with the Seniors In Action and Hospitality ministries. Lucille worked for over 20 plus years as a Cook at Jarrell's Truck Stop before retiring.
Lucille was affectionately known as "Nana" and "Aunt Lou." She was an extremely humble woman. She was never a pretender and what you saw was what you got! Nana became a caregiver for many of her family members. Nana was the last of her siblings and she often stated how lonesome she was without them. Now she is rejoicing once again with them all!
Nana loved to cook and everything she cooked was delicious. You could always count on her to make her delicious cakes and pies for any occasion.
She loved her family and her church family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and aunt to all of her relatives. She would often say that "I can't do the things I used to do, but I am grateful to God for what I still can do." Her favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
She leaves to cherish her memory, her dear and devoted family, her daughter, Carolyn "Faye" (Ivory), two sons, Thomas and Ronald, ten (10) grandchildren, Sonya, Nishonda, Charles (Monty), Stacey. Adrian, Keith, Tajuana, Joey, Shawn and Shayna, twenty-one (21) great grandchildren, ten (10) great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including three (3) devoted friends, Thelma Smithers, Vita Derricott, and Yvonne Rollins.
