Obituary

Lue Ellen Ross Wingfield aka (Luetta) departed her earthly life on July 3, 2015 at her residence in Ruther Glen Va, after a long illness. She was born Dec 17, 1915 to the late John E and Sarah E Ross. She received her education at #8 School in Caroline County. She work and retired as a cook for Quantico Naval Base alongside her husband for many years and after retirement she worked for a Nursing Facility in Dawn County. Early in her life she confessed her faith and accepted Christ at Reedy Baptist Church and later in years she joined Second Baptist Church singing with the Senior Choir. In 1993 she joined Oxford Mt. Zion Church under the leadership of Rev. Seth Pruden her pastor during that time. There she served as a Senior usher and was on the Centennial Decoration Committee until her illness. She was known for her gentle and loving smile, loved to travel, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all. She was united in Holy matrimony to the Stewart B. Wingfield who preceded her in death in 2006. Also preceded in death, her Father John Ross, Mother Sarah Ellen brother Edward Ross and a nephew Eugene Baylor. Luetta leaves to cherish in loving memory her son Wilson O'Neal Ross of Ruther Glen; seven grandchildren Greta Scott (Ruther Glen) Francine Thurston, ( Louisa ) Wilson Ross Jr, ( Cedon) Beverly Freeman, (Bowling Green) William Ross, ( Ladysmith) Michael( Ruther Glen) and James Ross (Bowling Green . 16 great grand children, 6 great, great grand children, one to be born in October of this year. A host of nieces, cousins and friends. Also we like to thank the BonSecour Hospice team and her care givers for providing loving care during her illness, Joann Toliver, Beverly Craddock-(Caregivers) Durcellia Baylor, Rene, Vicky and Amity Leland. Hospice Nurses. To Grandma with Love You were born to be free, Yes Lord, eternally, you were our butterfly flying so gracefully. You kept us going; and you kept on showing, the greatest Love for family. We want to thank you for the love you gave while living; it was the gift of love you received from our Father in heaven. He soon saw that your road was getting rough, he said, Peace be thine my child "that is enough" it's time to be set free. Rest in loving peace . The Grandchildren
