He had a great passion for the Washington Commanders. He enjoyed spending time with his family and close friends. His constant humor brought cheerfulness to everyone in his presence. He cherished family gatherings and embraced those moments with laughter and joy with all those around him.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving children, Detz and Mancy Johnston and Marita Smithers-Keller (Brent); one sister, Sandra Morris (Quincy); two step-brothers, Greg Washington and Damon Braxton; four grandchildren, Patrice and RayQuan Smithers, JayCi and Chance Johnston; two great-grandchildren, Landen Stokes and Ace Smithers; one niece, Quinesha Morris-Rogers; six aunts, Martha Walker, Lorene Tillman (Moses), Mary Johnson (Melvin), Maureen Straws (Lloyd), Lorraine Goodall, Nettie Green, and a host of other relatives and friends.
