Marcela Fant was born on April 28, 1962, the youngest child of the late Thomas and Laura Fant. She was called home to rest on October 19, 2024. In addition to her parents, Marcela was preceded in death by her only brother, Thomas Fant Jr.

Marcela was educated at St. Patrick Catholic School in Jersey City, New Jersey, and graduated from Lincoln High School. After high school, she started a career in customer service in Jersey City, New Jersey. In 2004, Marcela relocated to Richmond, Virginia, she continued her career in customer service, which led to her employment at T-Mobile, which lasted 18 years.

Marcela was the vibrant center of our family, a shining star that brought life and laughter to every gathering. Her family was her greatest source of pride and joy, and she adored them with all her heart. Marcela's love extended to her friends, whom she cared for deeply. She had a youth spirit that found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life Marcela lived her life to the fullest, embracing her uniqueness and dancing to her own rhythm. We all know how much Marcela loved to talk on the phone. Let us carry forward her spirit of love, generosity, and dedication that she showed to her family and friends, and the countless lives she touched on her remarkable journey.

Marcel is survived by her devoted sons, Dariell Fant and Davon Fant; daughters-in-law, Charette Fant and Arlenis Fant; grandchildren, Tyee Jordan, Chelsea Fant, and Nicholas (Nico) Fant; loving sisters, Deidra Jackson and Cleones Baker; bonus brother, Randy Smith; caring aunts, Gloria Fields, Martha Tucker, and Lathenia (Boobie) Braxton; faithful friends, Kevin Henderson, , Sharon Gaskins, and Kim Holloway; adoring nieces and nephews; compassionate cousins; and countless loved ones.
