Reflections of Life

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8

Deaconess Margaret Lorraine Roye closed her eyes and peacefully went home with the Lord on Sunday, July 2, 2023. She was born on April 23, 1934 to the late Ethelene and Oliver Johnson, Sr.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60+ years, William Roye, Sr,  son, Matthew Roye, siblings, Ethel Cole, Oliver Johnson, Jr, Helen King, Kathryn King, Joyce Johnson, Jean Hopson and Gandy Johnson.

"Tease", as she was affectionally called was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved spending time with her family, cooking big meals, especially Sunday dinners, solving soduku puzzles, and caring for her beautiful plants.

Tease was educated in the Spotsylvania County Public School System. At an early age she accepted the Lord and became a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Partlow, VA. Tease was a true worshipper and would often get filled with the Holy Spirit while ministering in song. She served faithfully in several capacities to include: deaconess ministry, missionary ministry, a member of the choir and served as choir president, member of the hospitality committee and member of the Pastor's Aide ministry. Often times, Tease, her husband, children and grandchildren were the choir at Mt. Olive.  She loved Mt. Olive and always looked forward to serving at the church.

Tease retired from Tyson (formally Holly Farms) after 30+ years of service. After retiring she continued her love for cooking, enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren and shopping with her daughters.

She leaves to cherish her legacy of love, four children William Roye, Jr. (Renae), Adriane Oliver (Earnest), Broderick Roye (Ronda), Constance Plummer (Glenn); grandchildren: Genette (Jamaal), Brittany, Ashley, William III and Tyrek; great-grandchildren: Alayna, Amari, Peyton, Nehemiah and Honesty; four sisters, Ruby Washington, Dorothy Boone, Nancy Bray, Linda (Carroll) Moore, brother-in-law, Frank H. Cole. Devoted nieces and nephews, devoted neighbors, the Jones family and Demetrique Ferguson.
