Obituary

Mrs. Margaret Ellen Taylor, 91, of Glen Allen, Virginia entered into eternal rest on September 11, 2016. She was born on a farm in King William County on February 28, 1925 to the late Nelson Roosevelt Brown and Daisy Bell Nelson Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband James A. Taylor and her brother Everett N. Brown.

She was educated in Hamilton Holmes School in King William County. She graduated from Virginia State University in 1946 with a BS degree in education. She taught in Henrico County public schools, then was employed by the IRS as a tax preparer. She then became a homemaker that loved to care for her family. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, 4-H club, playing the piano, crazy 8 retirement pinochle club, and cooking.  She was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of King William, Virginia where she served as a pianist for many years. She was a devoted care taker to her parents and anyone who was sick. She was the Matriarch and strength of the family. She was devoted to her community where she was a volunteer at the polls and various community events. She had a special love for her grandchildren and she took care of them. Her voice was very distinct and calming. She had such a calming spirit that embodied love and care. She just had a way of showing love and her family loved and appreciated her very much.  She will forever be in the hearts of her family and will be dearly missed.

She leaves to cherish her memory her four children Margaret Taylor Walker, James E. Taylor, Sr. (Donna), Laureen R. Harrington (LaRue), Karen T. Jones (Ronnie), four grandchildren James E. Taylor Jr., Jamal L. Taylor, Deandre Harrington, Raquel Jones, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, one sister-in-law Estelle Brown, one devoted friend Gwendolyn Harrison, a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
