Maria L.
Trent
November 24, 1950 – May 25, 2026
Maria Ford Trent was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, to the late Charles Dudley and Rosa Lee Ford Parrish.
After moving to Virginia, as a youth, Maria gave her life to the Lord.
Maria sang in the Inspirational Choir, and her soprano voice was deeply missed at church as declining health kept her from singing.
She was educated in Hanover County Public Schools, graduating from John M. Gandy High School, Ashland Virginia.
She worked at Randolph-Macon College and the Hanover Country Club alongside her mother, as well as at Ford Motor Company and Verizon Telephone Company, where she retired after 30 years of service.
Maria passed away peacefully early Monday morning on May 25, 2026.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents, two older brothers, Calvin Ford and Phillip Dudley; one younger brother, Glenn Ford; and a sister, Leen Dudley.
She is survived by her Husband of 42 years, Dennis Trent; son, Keshon Ford (Barbara); granddaughter, Kiera Knox; grandson, Devin Keshon Ford; two step-granddaughters and three great-grandkids, brother, Nick Ford (Millician); two sisters, Gail Abdullah and Minister Joanna Castillo (Aniseto); sisters-in-law, Brenda Mickens (Eugene) and Delta Gardner and brother-in-law, Realious Trent; and a host of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews and extended family and friends.
