Mary Malinda Johnson Jordan departed this earthly life for eternal rest and peace on Wednesday, August 12,2026. Mary Malinda was born January 3, 1941, in Dawn, Virginia. She was the first child born from the precious union of George and Mary Johnson.

At an early age Malinda accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior, was baptized and joined the Second Mount Zion Baptist Church in Dawn, Virginia. After relocating to the DMV area, she joined Paramount Baptist Church in Washington D.C. and served faithfully by evangelizing with the Sunday School, singing in the choir, substituting as New Member Class Leader, serving the community and being a deaconess. She was delighted to be able to know, serve, praise and worship the LORD.

Malinda graduated from Union High School in Bowling Green, Virginia in June 1958. While there, she flourished and was very active as leader of many student organizations. She was also an avid softball player. Her goal was to become a secretary. Her exemplary work ethic and determination allowed her to exceed her expectations. She started as a clerk typist in 1958 for the federal government and retired 30 years later after becoming an accomplished professional accountant for both the Navy and Marines. During this time, she attended Howard University, received an associate degree from U.S. Agriculture Department Government College and actively participated on a softball team and duck pin bowling league.

Early during her tenure with the federal government, she was introduced to the love of her life, Aaron Ronald Jordan. They were united in Holy Matrimony July 20, 1963, at Mount Bethel Baptist Church in Washington D.C. They were blessed with one child, Aaron Eugene, whom she loved dearly. After retiring she was able to accomplish her desire to be a full-time homemaker, mom, and grandmother. Malinda found solace and joy spending time with her family, traveling, gardening and fishing.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Kevin, George, James and Bessie Ann Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her beloved husband of 63 years, Aaron Ronald, devoted son, Aaron Eugene, loving grandsons, Anthony, Adam and Austin, sisters, Vienna Jordan and Jacqueline (Lonnie) Thomas, brothers, Robert Renay (Susie), Kenneth and Ronald Keith (Nikisha), Sister-in-laws, Eva Johnson and Patrice J Mahone, and countless nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
