Maurice Franklin Johnson, affectionately known to family and friends as "Moe," "Big Moe," or "Big Daddy" was born on September 9, 1971, to Deloris and Randolph Johnson. He departed this earthly life on September 8, 2024, in Richmond, Virginia.
Maurice attended the Caroline County public schools and graduated from Caroline High School in 1989. At an early age, he accepted Christ and became a member of Second Baptist Church in Ruther Glen, Virginia.
Throughout his life, Maurice held several jobs, including positions at Richfood, Americast, and Sunbelt Rentals, before his health began to fail.
Maurice had a passion for cooking and delighted in sharing his latest creations with family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, watching football and was an avid fan of the San Francisco 49ers. Known for his distinctive sense of style in fashion, Maurice took pride in staying "FRESH" from head to toe, whether for an outing or just a walk to the mailbox.
His beloved daughter, Amarria Denise Johnson, preceded him in death.
He leaves cherished memories to his parents, Deloris and Randolph Johnson, his five children: two daughters; Torri Childs and Brya Johnson: three sons: Jalen, Jaden, and Maurice Johnson Jr.; three grandchildren: Riley, Gabriel, and Michael Braxton; One brother: Marcus Johnson (Brittney): nieces and nephews, Marquaeza, MaKhiya, and Marquise Johnson. His legacy continues through his grandfather, Leroy Ferguson; aunts and uncles, Prya Mirpuri (Vashi), Helena Carter (Ken), Michael Johnson (Alice), Robert Johnson (Chee-Chee), Jeffrey Johnson, Robert "Bobby" Ferguson Sr. (Debra), Cheryl Thornton (Winston), Donnell Ferguson (Angie), and Lisa Ferguson. A host of other relatives and friends. Maurice's memory will forever be held in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
