Moody T. Bazley departed this life Thursday, August 20, 2020 surrounded by his family.  He was born May 11, 1920 to the late Charlie and Pauline (Polly) Bazley.  He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Charlotte, Hannah, Jeanette, Robert, Arthur, George, and James, and four grandchildren, Larry, Clifford, Moody, and Anthony.

He joined Second Mt. Zion Baptist Church at an early age.  In January 1945 he joined the U.S. Army, and in June 1943 he was joined in holy matrimony to the late Margaret (Putt) Courtney Bazley for seventy years.

Moody was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.

He leaves to cherish his memories a daughter, Hattie Smith (Leon); grandchildren, Beverly (Harvey), MaSonda, Jeffery (Pamela), C.J., and Andre; great grandchildren, Tracy, C.L., Wykenna, Travon, and TraSonda; foster children, Shelly, Judy, Patricia, Janice, Sandra, Daniel, and Sterling; brother-in-law, Donald Courtney; sisters-in-law, Blanche, Vernell, Emma, Doris, and Alto; nephews, Michael (Smiley) devoted, Lionel, Kenneth, and John and a host of other relatives and loving friends, including Charles Dinkens, devoted.
