Fairley, Sr.
August 31, 1957 – July 31, 2023
Nathan Alphonzo Fairley entered into eternal rest on July 31, 2023. He was born on August 31, 1957 to the late Sarah Romaine Minor. He was preceded in death by his mother and oldest brother Leroy Fairley and his best friend, Tyrone Blocker.
He graduated from Patrick Henry High School where he excelled in football. He later attended his beloved Virginia Union University on a full football scholarship. Nathan graduated with a B. S. in math with a minor in computer science. With his education, he began a career as a System Engineer and IT Specialist.
Nathan's love for football continued after graduating from Virginia Union University via Youth Intramural Sports. His coaching skills garnered his teams, the Ashland Vikings, and the Chamberlayne Packers winning seasons. His service also extended beyond the football field. Nathan served in the "Burning Sands" organization of Virginia Union University and spearheaded galas for the athletic department.
Nathan leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Patricia (Tricia) and his son, Nathan, Jr.; his beloved granddaughter Kaya; his second son, Leroy Fairley, Jr.; father-in-law, Fleming Morris, Sr.; brother, Larry Fairley (Virginia); two sisters-in-law, Dearl Pollard and Mary Dean; brother-in-law, Fleming Morris, Jr.; three nieces, Shanika Horn (Anthony); Laquita Fairley; Laytoya Morris; three nephews, Johnny Fairley, Kenneth Fairley, Jevon Morris (Nona) and a number of great nieces and great nephews; other relatives and friends.
