Nathaniel Wallace
Cooper
November 5, 1967 – December 31, 2024
Nathaniel Wallace Cooper, affectionately known as "Coop" or Jr., departed this earthly life peacefully on December 31, 2024, at Spotsylvania Regional Hospital with his loving wife at his side. He was born on November 5, 1967, to Mary Garland Brown and the late Nathaniel Wallace Brown, Sr. and was later adopted by Isaac Cooper.
Coop graduated from Washington and Lee High School in Montrose, Virginia. He accepted Christ and was baptized.
Coop was a loving, soft-spoken, and kind person who treated everyone with love and greeted them with a smile. He was a mentor to many young men who looked up to him. He loved fishing and spending time with his family; especially, his daughter, Charmere (Tootie) and grandchildren, Cherish (Easter Bunny) and Terrance (Dino).
Coop was a New York Yankees fan and a die-hard Seattle Seahawks fan who loved talking about football. He married the "love of his life" and his best friend, April Coleman on February 25, 2017. They spent 20 wonderful years together.
Coop worked for UNFI (formerly known as SUPERVALU) and was a faithful employee for more than 25 years until his heath began to fail. In addition to his father, Coop was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted wife, April Cooper; his parents, Mary and Isaac Cooper; children, Keith, Jaekwon, Nabrea, Anieshia, Tamere, Treyvon, Merdysha, Chelsii, and Charmere; eleven grand-children: Tamerion, Cherish, Michael, Kinsley, James, Terrance, Samira, Iyssiaha, Egypt, Everly, and Ivy; his mother-in-law, Myrtle Rock, father-in-law, MacArthur Coleman, Sr. (Gladys); two brothers, Wandre Brown (Latissa) and Isaac Cooper; two sisters, Jacquline Graham and Carita Brown-Tinsley (Joseph); four aunts: Catherine Taylor, Margaret Askew, Jessirita Scriven (Stanley) and Susan Ballard (Cleo); eight uncles, Jeffrey Hackett, Wayde Brown, Sr. (Evon), Simuel Brown (Sheila), Phillip Brown (Ellie), Ferdinand Cooper (Elizabeth), Hardie Cooper (Christine), John Cooper and Kermit Johnson; sisters-in-law, Cecilia Coleman (Steve), Charrie Childs (Andre), Rhonda Persuad (Charles) and Latrese Lucas; brothers-in-law, Robert Rock (Anna), Joseph Rock, MacArthur Coleman, Jr. (Darlene); devoted friends: Joel Marrero, David Boulware, Eric Jordan, Troy Murchinson, Tim Mills, Nipsy Derricot, Keith Rozier, Barte Nelson, Michael Shelton, Ricky Pi, Kaya Bryant, Deanna Anderson, Shannon Manuel, Robin Foster-Mayo, Andre Rose, Vicki Freeman, and Veronica Mickens (whom he referred to as Mom); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
