Obituary

Otelia Anntoinette Green , affectionately known as "Tee" was born on January 6, 1957 to Raymond and Ottoree Freeman of Doswell, Virginia.  She entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ottoree Freeman, daughter, Sheena Green and brothers, Raymond Freeman, Jr and Timmie Freeman.

Otelia attended Hanover County Public Schools and graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1976.  After graduating, she began working at the Shirt Factory. She later worked at the Ashland Convalescent Center for 32 years until retirement in 2019.  She accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Jerusalem Baptist Church. She sang in the choir, served with the Hospitality Ministry, and served on the youth usher board.

Otelia was a very sweet person and would give you the shirt off her back.  Otelia loved cooking, singing, watching softball, basketball, and football.  She was an avid fan of the Washington Commanders (formally Washington Redskins).  Until her health began to fail, she loved watching her favorite football player, Deshawn (Day Day) while running up and down the sidelines.  She was a great mother and grandmother.  She loved her family, especially her grandkids and hanging out with her sisters.

She was united in holy matrimony to her husband, Sherwood L. Green, Sr. on August 10, 1985, which she leaves precious memories.  She leaves to cherish her memory,  two sons, Sherwood Green, Jr. (May May) and Thomas Green (Pee Wee); devoted father Raymond Freeman, Sr.; her sisters, Amy Carter (James "Mike"), Benita Jackson (Michael) and Latonia Freeman, two brothers, Marcus and Rodney Freeman of Doswell, VA, two sisters-in-law, Joanne Conyers and Deborah Wallace of South Carolina; eight grandchildren, Deshawn, Shawn, Demontae, Ka'Najah, Jamari, Jayceon, Shamar and Thomas, Jr.; one goddaughter, Lynette Carter, four aunts, Myrtle Fortune (Lucius), Gloria Freeman, Delores Freeman and Eloise Romaine; one uncle, Robert Freeman of Texas.  A host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends, including devoted friend, Mrs. Dearl Pollard.
