Robert Lee ("Bubba") Branch was called home Thursday October 9, 2014. Robert was the second child born to the late Deacon and Mrs. Charlie Branch Sr. on May 18, 1918. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Elnora B. Trueheart, Charlie H. Branch Jr., Alma B. Robinson, Edward Branch and Sallie B. Williams. Robert attended Virginia Randolph Training School. He was a faithful member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. In his early years, Bubba was a trustee and a member of the usher board at the church. He retired from William Byrd Press after 39 years of service. Bubba was a handyman to the neighborhood. He fixed lawnmowers, TV's and everything that needed fixing. If anything was broken he could fix it. His self built garage was his man-cave. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and fishing. Bubba was an avid fisherman and he loved to fish as well as eat fish! He enjoyed the time shared with his family and friends. Robert loved his wife of 72 years and his family and they loved him. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Margaret James Branch; three sisters-in-law Sarah J. Jackson, Virginia J. Scruggs and Ophelia James; a host of nieces and nephews; devoted friends and neighbors, Mr. & Mrs. Norvel Chambers and Deacon & Deaconess Lloyd Jackson and other devoted family members and friends.
