Robert Lewis
Fells
October 3, 1936 – July 7, 2021
Robert Lewis Fells, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at his residence. Robert was born on October 3, 1936, to the late Robert and Mildred Ann Fells Mines. He was preceded in death by his sister Elizabeth Paige and brother James Fells. He was educated at Cassie Elementary School in Caroline County.
He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and joined the Second Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he attended until his health began to fail.
Robert was once employed at the Tobacco Factory. He later gained employment with Crestview Apartment Corporation, where he retired with 30 years of faithful service. He was well liked by his co-workers.
Some of his hobbies included gardening, lawn care, and baseball. He could hit a ball out of the park. He enjoyed watching his favorite wrestler Andre the Giant on Saturday nights. Dancing was his way of expressing his talent to the young boys on the dance floor. Marvin Gaye "Got to Give It Up" was his favorite dance ritual. As you know his song was a lengthy one. When he got tired, he would just stop, stand there and "bop, bop, bop" with a huge smile on his face.
Robert was a man of great kindness and compassion and gained the respect of his community. He would cut your grass, trim your hedges or whatever you requested him to do. Being a good neighbor was always his intentions.
Left to cherish his memories are his seven children, Robert Fells, Elder Priscilla Easley (Carl), Linda Loredo (Ramon), Lolita Robinson (David), Ada Sanchez (Carlos), Marcellus Fells, and Thomas Fells (Brenda); 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; three sisters Delores Stevens (Watt), Mildred Dyer (Freddie), and Vermont Mines; one brother-in-law James Paige; a host of nieces, one devoted, Glendora Rollins, nephews, cousins and many friends among those are Mary Freeman, Lloyd Dandridge, Luke Taylor, and Leroy Rollins.
