REFLECTIONS OF LIFE

Sister Rosetta Marie Cole earned her wings surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, January 29 th 2023 at Spotsylvania Regional Hospital, Spotsylvania, Virginia. Rose, as she was affectionally called, was born June 26, 1948. The first child born to Frank Henry Cole and the late Ethel Cole. She was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Franklin.

At an early age she was baptized and became a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Beaverdam, Virginia. Rose was very supportive spiritually and financially to the church. She served in many capacities including a member of the choir, Pastor's Aide Committee, Hospitality Ministry, Usher Board and Church Clerk. Prior to her declining health, Rose was an active member of the Mattaponi Baptist Association Sunday School and BTU. She loved God, her church, family and friends. She was a mentor to many, very kindhearted, and had a giving spirit.

Rose graduated as Valedictorian from John J. Wright High School, class of 1966. Furthering her education, she matriculated to Virginia State University graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She was an educator with the Spotsylvania School System retiring after 36 years of service. Rose was loved and revered by her students and peers. She was a dynamic teacher and held many positions to include Student Council Association Sponsor, Reading specialist, Spotsylvania Education Association School Representative, Title One Reading chairperson and new teacher mentor. She impacted the lives of her students and was also a fashion enthusiast, many students remembering her for her color coordinated outfits with matching nail polish and jewelry.

Rose, and her parents were inseparable and had an unbreakable bond. She was the "Apple of Frank's Eye", his pride and joy! Rose and her mom were more than mother daughter, they were best friends. She leaves, to continue her legacy of love, her loving father Frank Henry Cole, five devoted Aunts, Margaret Roye; Ruby Washington; Dorothy Boone; Nancy Bray; Linda Moore (Carroll); and a host of cousins including devoted, Katina Hopson, Gary Boone, Earl & Gail Bolden, Minister Jamal Moore, & Eleanor Brooks; devoted aunt-in-law, Julia Johnson. Other family members, and friends among those  devoted, Renee Beverly, Pamela Gardner, and Synette Herndon.
