Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.  He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.  He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.  Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Deaconess Ruby Christine Johnson Washington, of Richmond, VA, peacefully departed this life in her home, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, July 11, 2023.

She was the 5th child of 13 born to the late Ethelene and Oliver Johnson, Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Carroll M. Washington, her daughter, Sheryl W. Sorrell; siblings, Ethel Cole, Oliver Johnson, Jr., Helen King, Margaret Roye, Katheryn King, Joyce Johnson, Jean Hopson, and Gandy Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Carolyn W. Young (Adrian) and Terrie W. Allsbrooks (Jerald); a son-in-law, Douglas Sorrell; seven grandchildren, Rayna S. Dudley (David), Adrian Young, Jr. (Whitney), Douglas Sorrell II, Reshawn Garnett (Amity), Terrawn Garnett, Jerald Allsbrooks, Jr., and Terryn Garnett; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Boone (Robert, deceased), Nancy Bray (John, deceased), and Linda Moore (Carroll); sister-in-law, Gwinette Washington Hill (Sam); brothers-in-law, Henry L. Washington (Clara, deceased), and Frank H. Cole; as well as a host of devoted nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
