Ruth w. Carter, of Ashland, VA departed this life June22, 2014. She leaves her memory a devoted grandson, Cedric Kent Hand; devoted niece and caretaker, Saundra Jordan; one brother Robert Winston; two sisters; Carrie W. Burton (Chauncey) and Anna McLean Shelton; a devoted friend Elizabeth Chandler; and a host of relatives and friends. Her remains rest at the Henry W. Dabney Funeral Home 518 N. Washington Hwy Ashland, VA. Where the family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday. Funeral service 11:00 am Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Ebenezer Baptist Church Beaverdam, VA. Dr. John Kinney, Pastor officiating. Interment church cemetery.
