Ruth Ella Sims was born February 24, 1930 to the late David and Ethel Morton.  God called her home on May 30, 2016 with her family and loved ones by her side.  Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma and friend.  She received her education in the Caroline County Public School System; and although she worked for Truck Stops of America for many years, her passion was always her home and her family.  Ruth accepted Christ at an early age and joined Shiloh Baptist Church in Bowling Green, VA.  In December 2001, she joined Jericho Baptist Church where she attended faithfully.

On July 3, 1965, Ruth was united in holy matrimony to Tilman Sims, Jr, who preceded her in death.  Ruth was also preceded in death by two children, Tyrone Shepherd and Carlton Sims;  one grandchild, Eric Foxx; and a devoted sister and brother-in-law, Annie and Eli Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her memory seven children, Claudia Christian (Paul), Ethel Ferguson, Glenda Richardson (Allen), Emanuel Sims (Gretchen), Catherine Sims-Jackson (Preston), Juwan Sims, and Alonzo Sims (Marie); one daughter-in-law, Sheila Shepherd; two brothers-in-law James Simms (Joanne) and Hebert Simms; three sisters-in-law, Helen Fox, Vivian Cosby (Raymond) and Margaret Simms; 19 Grandchildren; 23 Great-Grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
