Ruth G. Taylor was born on March 27, 1936 to Lloyd and Annie Lawrence. She entered into eternal rest on Sunday October 27, 2013. Ruth accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 14. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Ashland, VA. After her marriage to Wesley Taylor she joined Jerusalem Baptist Church. Ruth was known for making her cabbage for church functions. She loved cooking Sunday dinner for her family and friends. She also loved singing with the Voices of Hope, the Adult Choir and Mass Choir until her health failed. She loved shopping and everything had to match; but mostly she loved her church family and was always willing to help. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Wesley Taylor and daughter Sherry Farmer; and one sister Arlin Lawrence. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Sherwood and Sheldon Taylor; one daughter, Sharon Taylor; two grandchildren Isley Grimes and Tierra Farmer; one great-grandchild, Jaylen Adent; two brothers, Lloyd and Preston Lawrence; two sisters, Barbara Johnson and Dora Syndor; one sister-in-law Thelma Taylor; and host of other relatives and friends.
