Shirley T. Spurlock entered into eternal rest on August 14, 2022 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Isaiah and Ida Thornton.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Noble Curtis Spurlock and her oldest son, Franklin Thornton.

Shirley joined the Oak Grove Baptist Church at an early age where she was a faithful member until her health began to fail.

Shirley leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Burnette and Brenda Smith of King William, Va.; one son, Deacon Roger Thornton (Deaconess Vanessa) of Glen Allen, Va; five grandchildren, Albert Smith (Wytina), Shirley Smith, Roger Tyler, Brittany Thornton (LaWanda), and Ruddy Branch; six step grandchildren; six great great grandchildren, one very devoted, Aneek Smith; one sister, Ophelia Thornton of Chesterfield, Va.; one brother, Douglas Thornton of King William, Va; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Shirley also had four devoted friends, Sandy Trueheart of New Jersey, Sarah Gresham, Evelyn Jackson, and Ella Mae Lewis, all of King William, Va.
