Spencer Demetric Thomas entered into eternal life Monday, September 16, 2024. He was born on January 16, 1969, to James R. Thomas and the late Sarah Johnson Thomas. He received Christ at an early age and was baptized at Bethany Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Thomas and his sister, Crystal Thomas.

Spencer attended Hanover County Public Schools alongside many lifelong friends. He dedicated his life to his work, mostly trucking - a dump truck to be exact. In more recent years, he did spend a little time driving an eighteen-wheeler, which he also loved. During his travels, he did plenty of sightseeing and snapped photos every chance he got. He loved his work and the friends he met along the way, who knew him as "Home Grown" (If you know you know). Spencer was a hardworking and loving man. He was known for his wonderful smile and how easily he could make people laugh.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his father, James R. Thomas; three devoted daughters, Zora Thomas, Kara Nelson, Kayla Nelson; two sisters, Rochelle Thomas (devoted), Stephanie Thomas: one brother, Robert Thomas-Walker; five aunts, Geneva Coleman (devoted), Gloria Jackson, Loretta Morris, Pearl Jackson, Gladys Thomas; two uncles, Calvin Thomas, Jerry Thomas; four great aunts, Alberta Mickens, Annie Woodson, Mary Woodson, Judy Woodson; one great uncle, James Woodson; four nephews, Stefan Woodson, Markel Thomas-Walker, Jaden Thomas-Walker, Keith Thomas-Walker; three nieces; Regis Thomas, Joi Thomas, Brianna Thomas-Walker; and a host of cousins and devoted friends.
