His Birth History

Thomas Richard Winston (Bey) was born on October 25, 1935, in Hanover County Virginia. He was the youngest son born to Rev. Nathan H. Winston and Laura H. Winston of Ashland Virginia. On January 22, 2022, the Lord Jesus Christ received Thomas into His heavenly presence, when he departed from his natural life at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville, Virginia .

His Education

In addition, Thomas received his primary learning at the Hanover County training school , and the John M. Gandy School in Ashland Va.; likewise, he attained higher education for the ministry through Fredericksburg Bible Institute in Fredericksburg Va., and through Virginia Union University in Richmond, Va.

His Salvation And Ministry

Thomas received the Lord Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age (Romans 10:9-13) . Afterwards, he was baptized, and united in Christian fellowship at the Providence Baptist Church in Ashland Virginia, where Rev. Mason served as Senior Pastor. At a later time, Thomas was led by the Holy Spirit to preach his inspired Word; in the year of 1969, he united in membership at the Greater Nazarene Baptist Church. On November 16, 1969 , he was ordained - licensed to the ministry under the leadership of Rev. Louis Blakely. He served as Associate Pastor for (42 years) , president of the senior's ministry, - chairman of devotions at the Hanover Minister's Conference; likewise, in the later years, Rev. Winston united back in membership at the Providence Baptist Church, where he served as minister of visitation; but also, he faithfully participated in teaching Bible study, preaching God's Word, and he faithfully contributed towards the new Church building project with Rev. Samuel, Providence Baptist Church Senior Pastor.

His Employment History

For several years Thomas worked for Flowers Gas – Automotive Station, Connery Auto Parts store, and Ashland Auto Parts Store within Ashland Virginia. In addition, he was employed at Phillip Morris in Richmond Virginia for (22 years), and he retired as a faithful servant in his work for the company.

His Leisure Interests

Thomas enjoyed nascar racing and his favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt (number 8 car); but also, he liked western movies; his favorite actors were John Wayne (The Duke), Clint Eastwood, Kirk Douglas, and James Arness. Thomas also enjoyed James Bond movies (Sean Connery, - Roger Moore) as well as baseball games.

His Relatives

Thomas leaves to cherish his memory of four sons: Clayton Winston (Loris) of Hanover, County Virginia, Wilbur Winston of Richmond Virginia, Minister David Winston (June) of Jacksonville, Florida, and Kenneth Winston of Hanover County Virginia. A Grandchild, Clayton Jamel Winston, a great grandchild, Callie Winston, a sister, Audrey Brown, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
