Vandelia Johnson Davis was born on July 23, 1935 to Alfred and Fannie Johnson in Caroline County, Virginia. On August 9, 2015 Vandelia departed this life at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville, Virginia. She attended Caroline County Public Schools and later moved to Washington, D.C. where she was employed by Hecht's for many years as a sales associate. Vandelia moved back to Caroline County and married Robert "Ed" Davis in September 1988. Vandelia enjoyed cooking, shopping, and outings. After she retired from Hecht's she worked as a caregiver and companion to the elderly and as a nanny to children. "Van" was a member of St. Luke Baptist church where she served as an usher, church treasurer, and a member of the hospitality committee. Vandelia leaves behind her husband Robert "Ed" Davis, mother Fannie Woolfolk, step-sons Clinton Davis, Pastor Kenneth Davis (Paulette), step-granddaughter Kimberly Davis, sisters Margaret Moore, Lucille Moore, Eleanor Twiggs, brothers Kenny Johnson (Carmen), Al Johnson (Georgia), Michael Woolfolk (Zelda), and a host of nieces, devoted caregiver/niece Linda Green (Sylvester), nephews, and other relatives. She was predeceased by her brother Norman Johnson and her sisters Eliza Cosby and Iolia Lee.
