On January 13, 2025, while surrounded by family at St. Mary's Hospital, Vanessa Dale Holman went home to be with the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her mother Peggy Holman.

Dale, as she was affectionately called, was a sweet, loving, friendly person, but if you made her mad, she would speak her mind. She loved to dance and once she got started, she would not sit down. In her youngest days she could outrun anyone she raced. After she won, she would turn around and laugh at everyone she had beat running. Dale was the mail lady of the house and would get upset when there was no mail to be delivered. One day Aunt Emma Burley helped herself to our wagon to carry some of her things home. Dale was not happy and fussed the entire trip, she went to Aunt Emma's house to get the wagon back. Once we got there, Dale helped herself to a Pepsi outside Aunt Emma's house. That drink must have really changed her mood because Dale walked fast and laughed all the way back home. To know her was to love her! "Yes, Jesus Loves Me" was her favorite song. She will be forever loved and missed, but she is now home with her loving mother Peggy.

Vanessa Dale Holman leaves to cherish her loving memory three brothers; Roger (Cheryl), Ricky and Darryl Holman; three sisters, Bridgette King, Lisa Holman and Vanessa Woody, three nephews; Roger Lee Jr., Christopher and Deric Holman; four nieces, Monica and Jelesa Holman, Kenia Homely and Pamela Bennett; four uncles, Earl Holman, Earl, John and Mitchell Mines; one aunt, Laura Storrs; nine great nephews, six great nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
