Vernetta Ann
Thomas Johnson
June 26, 1965 – May 7, 2022
Vernetta (Netta) Ann Thomas Johnson, daughter of the late Harvey Leroy Thomas Sr. and Dorothy Marie Thomas, was born June 26, 1965, at MCV Hospital in Richmond, VA. On Saturday May 7, 2022, this beautiful tenacious soul gained her wings as she was called to eternal rest.
Vibrant, passionate and loving, Vernetta was a resident of Caroline County. Bernetta graduated from Caroline High School. She accepted Christ at an early age. She was family oriented to the core. "Make new memories" is something she would always tell her loved ones. Vernetta loved traveling internationally, spoiling her grandkids, and going out to eat with her family and friends. She made an everlasting impression with every encounter, from reading and cooking to music and dancing, she made many joys. To know her is to know she loved showing the best version of herself, especially on the dance floor.
Vernetta worked at St. Joseph's Villa, where she loved helping others until her health began to decline. Relentless, she enrolled at AIU (Health Science) where she demonstrated academic excellence and was named continuously on the Dean's List. Compassionate and genuine, our dear beloved heart is now at rest and will always be reminisced by those she loved and those who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her husband Harry Johnson; son Robert Trice, Jr.; three daughters Tiara Jones (Marvin), Angel and Ashley Trice; eleven grandchildren Alaysia, Malia, Akeema, Jaiye, Jenesis, Zachariah, Isaiah, Gabriel, Joseph, Aubrie, and Adonis; three loving brothers Harvey Jr., Matthew (Mona) and Mark Thomas; and host of uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews, one devoted Matthew Coleman (Ashley), and a host of family and friends, one devoted Pamela Thomas.
