Virginia Vernell Shelton was born to the late Elizabeth and James Wattie on April 23, 1940. Vernell as we so fondly called her joined the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church at an early age and attended Louisa County public schools. Vernell was employed at the Days Inn Hotel chain for many years until her health declined. She was formerly married to Howard Shelton Sr. and to this union three children were born. She leaves to cherish her memories three devoted children, daughters Janice Johnson (Raymond), Margaret Dickerson (Glen) and a son Howard Shelton Jr.; two sisters Norma Terry (Clayton), Katrina Hicks (Douglas); three brothers James Wattie, Thomas Wattie and Norman Jackson (Betty); seven grandchildren Sherrod, Jerome, Terry, Stewart (Trey), Jessica, Dominique and Ebony; fifteen great grandchildren; one sister-nlaw Elaine Wattie; three aunts Sarah Pryor, Margaret Winston and Edith Shelton; two uncles Percy James and Ernest Waller (Darlene) and a host of nieces, nephews, devoted first cousins, relatives and friends. No more sorrows will be yours, No more burdens will you bear, No more heartache will you endure, Because you are now in the Lord's care. Rest in peace our loved one. The family
