Walter Burnis Washington was born in Noel, Virginia on February 23, 1930 and departed this life July 14, 2024. He was 94 years old.

He was born to Linwood and Euvenia Washington. After attending school in Hanover County, Walter honorably served in the United States Army during the 1950's. After discharge from the service, Walter moved to Richmond, Virginia and was employed as a truck driver for Ruffin and Paine, Inc. He then worked for Reynolds Metal Company from which he retired after 20 years of service in 1993.

In his youth, he received Christ as his Lord and Savior at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Noel, Virginia. After moving to Richmond, Walter was an active member of Triumphant Baptist Church serving in many capacities until his death.

Walter was a creative, good-natured man and always able to repair items instead of throwing them away. He often had a good story or joke to share to entertain company.

Walter leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife Florence Washington, his nephews Stephen Ashmore (Jan), Calvin Washington, and Irwin Washington (Ruth). Nieces Brenda Washington, Deborah Tillman, Laurita Jackson (Gregory), Doris Clapp, and Lynette Johnson (Jerome). Cousins Marvin and Jean Pittman. He also leaves a host of other devoted relatives and friends.
