William "Willie" Lee Derricott, Sr., of Ashland, Virginia departed this life on Thursday, March 30 ^th , 2023, while surrounded by his loving family. Willie was born on March 29, 1945 to the late James and Alberta Derricott.

He was educated in the Hanover County Public School system.  Willie joined Greenwood Baptist Church at an early age.  In 1961, at the age of 16, Willie left home and joined the Old Dominion Amusement Circus where he worked for over five years. In 1967, he established Derricott Landscaping & Excavating which he owned, operated, and took great pride in for over 30 years until his health began to decline.

Willie was preceded in death by  his parents; wife, Carolyn Baylor-Derricott; brothers, James Derricott and Floyd Derricott; sisters, Mary Lincoln and Martha Morris.

Willie is survived by his children, three sons, Vincent Thompson, Sr. (Charlette), Mark Chandler (Ella), and Pastor William Derricott, Jr. (Lakeysia);   four daughters, Michelle Derricott, Angela Hall-Rouse (Tyrone), Shana Cash-Dolly (Cornelius), and Tomica Cash-Tillery (Milton). Eleven grandchildren, Latoya Thompson, Vincent Thompson Jr., Alonzo Derricott, Kiara Derricott, Tanisha Hall, Richard Hall, Dawon Hall, Praise Derricott, Honor Derricott, Heaven Derricott, and Trazunta Cash; f our great-grandchildren, Deon Hall, Neavaeh Jones, Jordan Scott, and Conor Derricott; t wo brothers, Howard James (Edna), Richard Derricott, Sr. (Ida), and two sisters, Roberta White (James) and Arlene Derricott, and d evoted friends Lloyd Strauss , John Lee White, long-time companion, Barbara McClaughlin and host of other relatives and friends.
