Obituary

William Alfred Johnson known to many as "Al" entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 8, 2017. He was born on July 1, 1937 in Caroline County,  Virginia  to Fannie Johnson Woolfolk and the late Alfred Johnson. He was educated in Caroline County Public Schools. He was united in marriage to Georgia L. Toliver on November 27, 1955. Al accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Saint Luke Baptist Church. He loved his family and loved to make people laugh.  Al never met a stranger. He was employed at Flippos Lumber, Billy Flowers Service Station and later Ashland Furniture Store for many years. He was the first employee at Shelton Corporation where he received a Lifetime Achievement Award.

He was preceded in death by a brother Norman Johnson and four sisters, Eliza Cosby, Iolia Lee, Vandelia Davis, and Lucille Moore. He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife, Georgia Johnson, two daughters, Cheryl Grooms and Toney Rosado, two sons, William "Billy" Johnson (Carolyn), Rodney Johnson (Joy), a loving mother, Fannie Woolfolk, two sisters, Margaret Moore and Elenora Twiggs, two brothers, Kenneth Johnson (Carmen) and Michael Woolfolk (Zelda), twelve grandchildren, Latoya Gregory (Avery),  Cedric Carter, Glenn DeAndre Grooms, Erik Grooms (Tanika), Chanel Rosado-Anderson (Ulysses), Alesia Johnson, Camille Johnson, Ricardo Rosado, Rodney DeAndre Johnson, Mayte Vanity Johnson, Alex Johnson, and Gavin Johnson, fifteen great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter.

A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends among them two devoted Earl Mines and Raymond Mason.
